Image Makers Photography Club is pleased to welcome Maurice Henri to Truro on Saturday, April 26th. Maurice will present a photography seminar entitled “Street Views”
Maurice is a professional photographer who lives in Moncton and who works all over the world. He first took photography seriously in 1977 after his father entered him (without his knowledge) in a photography competition in Montreal sponsored by La Presse where he won.
Since 1989, he has been working full time in the field of photography doing studio and location portraits, weddings, commercial, fine art and stock work. He hosted a nationally televised photography series entitled FOTO. He also founded Cameras for Healing the Photo Moncton International Photography Festival.
The “STREET VIEWS” presentation consists of a collection of photographs created by Maurice. The photos were taken during several international trips from 2010 to 2013.
The “STREET VIEWS” presentation will show people in their environment and living situations in a moment frozen in time. The aim is to bring an appreciation of street photography to a wide audience and to change people’s perception of varying cultures and status in an effort to make our communities a more accepting environment.
The work documents human life and its interaction with the environment. From the busy streets of modern cities to the calm roads of rural townships, the photographs narrate a diversity of themes uniquely entwined within the settings in which they are portrayed.
This presentation is open to anyone who may be interested. The cost is $10.00 for members of Image Makers Photography Club and $12.00 for non-members.
The seminars will be held at First Baptist Church, 759 Prince Street, Truro, from 9:00 am to noon on Saturday, April 26th
